The sixth meeting of the Carpathian Convention National Steering Committee

The sixth meeting of the Carpathian Convention National Steering Committee was held on Thursday 30 January 2014 at the Ministry of Environment.

 The objectives of the meeting were the review of activities undertaken since October 2012, internationally and on the Polish side towards the implementation of the Convention, and the elaboration of the Polish position
for the meeting of the Carpathian Convention Implementation Committee (CCIC) preparing the Fourth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP4) to the  Convention, planned in September 2014 in the Czech Republic. During the meeting with the involvement of UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre representatives, activities carried out under the “Carpathians Unite” project have been discussed, e.g. the elaboration of the National Action Plan for
the implementation of the Protocol on biological and landscape diversity, and the opportunities of using
the Carpathian Informatorium as the national Carpathian information exchange system, facilitating cooperation of ministries and institutions represented at the National Committee.
