The Carpathian Sheep Transhumance 2013 has started its wander through the Polish part of Bieszczady Mountains.

On Monday, the 1st of July, the Carpathian Sheep Transhumance was officially inaugurated in Poland. The wander started in a glade in Wołosate, situated in Bieszczady National Park.

After the special mass in St. Anna’s Church in Ustrzyki Górne, the sheep were consecrated. The event was accompanied by a traditional highlander band, playing popular in this region music.

The Carpathian Transhumance route in Poland leads through pasture lands located in Podkarpacie, Małopolska and Silesia Provinces. The whole trip is planned to end on the 14th of September in Czech Republic.
